Volunteer Profile - Sue Szumowski

Sue has worked as a volunteer with Inverell Meals on Wheels for 21 Years.
Sue dedicates her time 1 day a month but is always readily available if needed, this was certainly demonstrated during the height of Covid, when many of our elderly volunteers went into isolation because of their age.
Her tasks include meal pickup and delivery and checking up on the general wellbeing of her clientele.
“It doesn’t take too long; everything is laid out and organised well. I just wanted to do something to help people and I feel drawn to older people. There is just such enjoyment and fulfilment in making someone’s day – even in a small way”.
